It has been a great start to the 75th season! October is usually one of our busiest months with a lot of activity. We will share more details on our Facebook group page and via email as the month continues.

Fundraising
Bingo Night is Thursday, October 15 at the Norwich Legion, with all proceeds going to our Club. We hope you will join us and tell all your friends and family to come with you! This is a 14+ event. We have several great prizes to win. We are incredibly thankful to our community for their support.
See flyer attached for more details about Bingo. We are planning a fun Kids Bingo Night in November. More details to come.
Elmira Chicken orders are due Wednesday, October 14 by 7p.m. Please hand them to a Board member at the arena. If you cannot come in person, please scan your form and email to info@norwichskatingclub.ca. Make sure your scan is easy to read and print. E-transfers can be made to ndscpay@gmail.com with the comment “chicken order” and your name please.
Pick up day is October 28 at the arena. We are looking for volunteers to help sort chicken on October 28 at 2:30. Please email us if you are able to help. Hours will go towards your volunteer requirement.
Kelsey’s Kick Back Night in Tillsonburg on November 17. Join us and tell your friends to mention they are there for the Norwich Skating Club and Kelsey’s will donate a portion of your bill back to the Club! See flyer for details.
Hot chocolate bomb sale! The Carnival Committee has hot chocolate bomb orders available. Forms will be printed at the arena. Orders are due November 24, delivery December 14. Forms will be available at the arena. A great way to help support the 75th Carnival!
A new Snack table is now available at the arena. Cash only with all proceeds going directly to the Club.
FlipGive
Continue to use FlipGive for online shopping or e-gift cards. It’s an easy way to email a gift card to a friend, with a percentage coming back to the Club. Code HHBBS9.
Volunteer requirements
Volunteering is a mandatory commitment for all NDSC families. Members are required to submit a volunteer fee, which will be returned upon completion of their hours or the value of the fee.
A $200 fee/bond is equivalent to 6 hours of volunteering. Members can earn back their bond through fundraising (the amount of profit you earn for the club will be deducted from your bond amount) or volunteering (the number of hours volunteered will be deducted from your hours owed). All families are also required to complete a shift at the annual Carnival (in addition to your 6 hours). If you still have not completed your 6 hours by March, there are special Carnival jobs such as help with props etc. that can be applied to your volunteer fee.
How to pay your Volunteer Fee
Your fee will be accepted in two formats.

- A post-dated cheque for $200 written to the Norwich & District Skating Club
- A credit-card hold through our website.
If you would like to opt out of volunteering, please purchase our opt-out option on our website.

October theme day
It’s Halloween! Please encourage your skaters to show their Halloween spirit on Wednesday October 28, Friday, October 30 or Saturday, October 31. Skaters are invited to wear orange and black. Please refrain from wearing masks, costumes or anything that might be a tripping hazard or might make it difficult to see.
Mom-mom sale
Are you holding on to skating gear that others might be interested in? We will be hosting a mom-to-mom sale in the lobby of the arena in November. Stay tuned for more info.
Skating sale with Skate of the Art
Skate of the Art will be setting up shop in our lobby on November 17 from 4:30-8:00p.m. This is a great opportunity to purchase tights, bags, dresses and all other skating attire. Debit and cash available.
NDSC Spiritwear sale! October 26-November 9. We will have sample clothing onsite. More details to come.
